Newsletter: Easter Sunday

May I write to wish every Parishioner and their family a very blessed Easter this coming Sunday. For those able to participate whether in person, or online, the dramatic events of Holy Thursday and Good Friday find their full meaning through Easter. The Last Supper becomes the kernel of the Mass, the death on the Cross, the conquest of sin and death. Easter confirms the death as the sacrificial entry to new life to which we are called to share through the Holy Spirit and that grace is communicated through the Eucharist.

Despite the pall of violence that marks our world, whether the large scale destruction and death in Gaza and Ukraine or the individual acts of violence that mark  our cities and communities, Easter offers hope. Hope for the next world, and hope within this world too since death and sin are never the last word, despite appearances to the contrary.

Please look out for the ways in which your new spirit-filled post-Easter life may be enhanced in the Parish. There are plenty of spiritual and social encounters to suit all tastes and interests being offered in this parish.

Lastly may I thank all those who have assisted in the celebration of the Holy Week Liturgies, and allowed us to participate in such an intensive way: Readers, Musicians, Welcomers, Flower arrangers, Spring cleaners, and many more.

With every blessing for Easter
Fr Peter
