Newsletter: The Holy Family A
May I wish you and your families every blessing this Christmas and for a peaceful New Year. This last year saw our first Parish Mission for many years, ably led by two Redemptorist Missionaries, Fr Royston and Fr Peter. Each night nearly 100 people attended. The mission gave the impetus to engage in some street evangelisation in early December. All these are ways of fulfilling the mandate given to the Apostles by Jesus to, ‘Go, make disciples.’
Every year we all have much for which to be grateful, especially in the continued dedication of so many parishioners in in the sacramental, catechetical, pastoral and social activities of St Margaret’s. Together we all sustain the living heart of the Parish that is open outwards to receiving others who have or wish to encounter Jesus Christ.
St John proclaims that ‘the Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us’ therefore taking up residence in the heart of our community, our family, ourselves too, as the source of truth and hope. Celebrating Christmas gives us access to the hope presented by the birth of Jesus Christ, that He may open our hearts and provide the solid foundation on which to build our lives.
With good wishes
Fr Peter
